What is this about

In 1485, Guyot Marchant copied verses painted on the walls of a Parisian cemetery and printed them as the first Danse Macabre - Death leading pope and pauper alike toward the same grave, a reminder that rank buys no exemption. By the eighteenth century the image had trickled down into the Bibliothèque bleue, the cheap woodcut chapbooks hawked door to door across France, among them a 1728 Troyes edition illustrated with four skeleton musicians on its title page.

This shirt borrows that page. Four skeletons, their instruments, and a phrase that's been true since 1485: Dance like Death is watching.

Printed on a heavyweight Gildan tee, 100% cotton, imported.
