1. Antiquarian & Rare Books
Standard Global Policy (Non-EU Customers)
At La Fenice Antiquaria, we stand behind the authenticity and quality of every item we offer. All items are guaranteed as described and authentic. Should you wish to return an item, we kindly ask for advance notification within fourteen (14) days of receipt. Returns are accepted only if the item is packed, shipped, and insured as received, and arrives in the exact same condition.
Refunds are limited to the original purchase price, including the initial standard shipping cost. Return shipping costs and any associated import/customs duties are the sole responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Until full payment is received, all items remain the property of La Fenice Antiquaria.
How to Submit a Return Request (Standard Orders)
To initiate a standard return via our online store, please follow these self-service steps:
Submit a return request
Click the profile icon in the store's menu, or go to the refund policy or the contact page, and then request a return.
- Sign in to your account:
- In the "Email" field, enter your email address, and then click "Continue".
- In your email account, open the email sent from our store and copy the six-digit verification code included in the email.
- Go back to the online store, and then enter a six-digit verification code.
- Click "Request return" for the order that you want to submit the return for.
- If your order has more than one item, then select the items that you want to return.
- Select a return reason and add a note for the store.
- Click "Request return".
If your return request is approved and requires shipping, then you receive an email with shipping instructions and a return shipping label. After the product is returned, you receive a refund.
Statutory Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers Only)
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union (EU), you have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase contract within 14 calendar days without giving any reason.

The Timeline: The 14-day withdrawal period begins the day after you (or a designated third party other than the carrier) take physical possession of the goods. If the 14th day falls on a weekend or public holiday, the deadline is extended to the next working day.

Exercising Your Right: You can exercise this right instantly, without logging into an account, by clicking the "Withdraw from contract here" link located in our store footer. Alternatively, you may inform us via clear written notice.

Refunds & Shipping Costs: Upon valid submission of a withdrawal, we will refund the full purchase price of the book along with the original outbound standard shipping costs. The direct cost of returning the goods, including secure packing, tracked international shipping to California, and insurance, shall be borne entirely by the buyer.

Diminished Value: You are legally liable for any diminished value of the book resulting from handling beyond what is strictly necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and condition (similar to inspecting a volume in a physical bookstore). We reserve the right to deduct an appropriate amount from the refund if a book is returned damaged, altered, or poorly packed.
2. Printed Merchandise & Apparel (T-Shirts, Mugs, etc.)
Our T-shirts and other printed items are made to order through a trusted production partner. Because each piece is custom-produced specifically for you at the time of purchase, these items are explicitly exempt from both standard returns and the EU Right of Withdrawal (under the statutory exemption for goods made to consumer specifications). We cannot accept returns or exchanges for size, color, or change of preference.

Damaged or Defective Items: If your merchandise arrives damaged, misprinted, or defective, please contact us within thirty (30) days of delivery. We will gladly arrange a replacement or a full refund. Please include clear photos of the issue to help us resolve it quickly.
