Sell Your Books

We buy continually, from a single volume to an entire library.

What we buy: books printed before about 1900 — wine and viticulture, early science and medicine, natural history, agriculture, finely illustrated and engraved works. Italian and continental European material especially. Not book-club editions, encyclopedias, textbooks, or twentieth-century reading copies.

Photographs matter most. Five is usually enough: the title page, the spine and covers, the last printed page, anything written by hand, and any damage. For a large collection, photograph the shelves instead.

Do tell us about faults — they rarely put us off, but finding them later wastes everyone’s time.

We reply within three to five business days. We cannot offer valuations of books we are not considering buying; for that, the ALA’s Your Old Books is the best guide.
